LARSWG5 is the fifth major release of the LARS Weather Generator, a stochastic, site-based tool for producing long sequences of daily weather consistent with observed climate and user‑defined future scenarios. Calibrated to local station data, it reproduces realistic seasonality, variability, wet/dry spells, and extremes, making it a trusted component in agricultural, hydrological, and ecological impact assessments.

Key capabilities:

• Calibrates to multi‑year daily observations from a single site.
• Generates daily sequences for variables such as precipitation occurrence and amount, maximum and minimum temperature, and solar radiation (subject to data availability).
• Applies climate‑change scenarios using change factors or GCM/RCM outputs to simulate plausible future climates at site scale.
